HGV Driver
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Aviemore, is currently looking to recruit a Community Works Operative 4 (LGV) for an initial 2 months contract on rates of £14.68/hour (PAYE).
Responsibilities:
– Where required assist in specialist Roads maintenance operations such as surfacing and surface dressing
– Drive and be responsible for any allocated vehicle or item of plant, including defect reporting
– Operate large construction plant, such as excavators
– Drive LGV vehicles for the purpose of waste operations
– Drive other haulage vehicles
– Comply with drivers regulations, including tachographs
Essential Skills:
– Ability to work outdoors in all weathers
– Ability to work as part as a team or on your own
– A good general level of education
– An awareness of Health and Safety
– Possession of driving licence for LGV, Category C and C + E. However if an applicant has other attributes to offer to the Council in relation to road maintenance then training may be given to assist the applicant to gain his LGV licence.
– Ability to work to line and level
– Fit in well with small group of work mates. Good public manner
Desirable Skills:
– Ability to communicate effectively
– A desire to learn new skills
– A flexible approach to a variety and quantity of tasks
– The ability to work on your own initiative
– Confidence in your own abilities
– A current driving licence
– Possession of current CITB plant operators certificate for relevant plant
