HR Adviser
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Angus, is currently looking to recruit an HR Adviser for a contract until end of August 2026 on a rate of £220/day (Inside IR35). This role will be hybrid based, with some attendance required for meetings across the Angus area. There is no set hybrid working pattern, office attendance will be based on workload. The successful candidate must have a full, clean driving license and access to a car.
 
Responsibilities: 
 
– Provide professional advice, support and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies and procedures, and local and national conditions of service and its arm’s length organisation, complying with employment law and codes of practice. 
– Provide advice, support and guidance to managers on the implementation of the HR policies and procedures to support case management including during investigations and at hearings. 
– Contribute to ongoing development and communication of HR policies, procedures, schemes and other resources for managers and employees through research, benchmarking, impact assessments, working groups, drafting and consultation exercises with services and trade unions.  
– Contribute to the development of ResourceLink/employee management information system to meet organisational and functional requirements. 
– Develop, review and deliver learning for key HR areas. 
– Provide advice on the design of and process for reviewing and creating new jobs, job evaluation and job sizing service.  Support job evaluation and job sizing by co-ordinating the job gradings / job sizing process and related procedures.  Participate as a job analyst in panel.   
– Support programmes of work to deliver workforce planning priorities.   
– Provide advice regarding recruitment and selection procedures.  
– Support the delivery of the employee benefits package. 
– Contribute to the maintenance and review of HR guidance on the intranet including policy development. 
– Responsible for the data collection and production of statistics for reports, quarterly and annual statutory returns and Freedom of Information requests. 
– To comply with all data protection law in the processing of personal, and special categories of personal data, in line with the full privacy statement and service privacy notices. 
 
Essential Skills: 
 
– CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in HR Management (or equivalent). 
– Chartered membership of CIPD. 
– Willingness to undertake mandatory information governance training. 
– Up to date knowledge and understanding of employment legislation and HR best practice. 
– Excellent oral communication skills. 
– Excellent written communication skills. 
– Excellent interpersonal skills. 
– Good IT skills. 
– Experience of using Microsoft Office, Word and Excel. 
– Comprehensive generalist HR experience including advising and supporting managers to manage absence, conduct, performance and grievance cases. 
– Experience of contributing to the development of policies and procedures. 
– Knowledge and understanding of HR policies and procedures. 
– Ability to work as part of a team. 
– Ability to work on own initiative. 
– Ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise work effectively. 
– Ability to work to deadlines. 
– Ability to produce accurate work. 
– Full current driving licence. 
– Access to a vehicle.
