HR Assistant
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit an HR Assistant for a 2 month contract on a rate of £14.11/hour PAYE. This role will be hybrid based.
Responsibilities:
– Keep employee records and information on our HR system up to date, undertaking regular audits
– Support regular HR reporting from systems to Executive Team, Board and ad hoc reporting where required.
– Help to plan and manage migration away from paper-based personnel files, working with our data protection officer
– Maintain log of HR policies including tracking review dates, highlighting review deadlines and managing input from the HR team.
– Liaise with suppliers and finance colleagues on HR-related payments, invoices and purchase orders and new supplier forms.
– Manage updates to action trackers, agendas and other documentation
– Work with the highest level of confidentiality and integrity
– Support the delivery of Learning and Development activity across the organisation, including:
– Organising training for employees across the organisation
– Acting as an administrative user for our online learning platforms
– Managing queries to HR through our HR Enquiries inbox, escalating where necessary to the appropriate HR contact.
– Apply knowledge to assist employees with queries and navigation of HR Systems, iHasco, Linkedin Learning and HR related documents on the Information Store.
– Support key HR processes such as induction, recruitment and leavers process, ensuring the appropriate processes are followed.
– Proactively manage a variety of trackers and systems in the HR team
– Support on the evaluation of new and existing roles using our Job Evaluation methodology.
Essential Skills:
– Educated to HNC
– Evidence of an ongoing commitment to CPD
– Strong administration and organisational skills required for this role.
– Highly confidential and discreet
– Good problem solver
– Excellent customer service
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Microsoft office skills – PowerPoint, Access ,Excel, MS Teams and Sharepoint.
– Ability to work to tight deadlines
– Delivering high quality and accurate outputs
– Team work and collaboration skills
– Experience in HR and/ or L&D in a commercial and / or public sector
Desirable Skills:
– A relevant degree ideally within HR (CPP or CIPD)
– Working towards CIPD accreditation.
– Experience of maintaining HR systems
– Minute and note-taking
– Experience working in an HR team dealing with all aspects of a confidential workload
