HR Business Partner
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Dundee, is currently looking to recruit a HR Business Partner for an initial 6 month contract on an hourly rate of £25.70-£26.53. This role will be hybrid working, with up to days in the office and travel throughout Dundee, Angus and occasional travel to Edinburgh.
Responsibilities:
– To provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on recruitment and complex case management issues including absence management, wellbeing, disciplinary, capability and grievance matters, during both informal and formal processes.
– Provide advice, guidance and coaching to managers on HR policies and procedures, ensuring that managers are equipped with knowledge and understanding to be able to operate within the parameters effectively.
– Work closely with the Organisational Development (OD) Team to deliver on change management initiatives and to design and deliver training on HR related topics.
– Support the Head of HR and OD in the development, implementation and review of HR related employment strategies, policies and procedures, ensuring they remain current and reflect existing and amended legislation and best practice.
– Promote Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) as part of the culture of the organisation. Contributing to the EDI group’s equality action plan as and when required.
– Keep abreast of employment law and best practice issues and be able to advise management and staff on these. Represent the organisation at Employment Tribunals as necessary.
– Support the Head of HR and OD with the preparation of management and Board reports.
– Represent the HR Team on various working groups and projects as required.
– To actively support and develop junior members of the Human Resources Team. Providing advice and guidance on work related matters.
Essential Skills:
– Hold a Degree in Human Resource Management or similar appropriate qualification equivalent to a minimum of Level 9 of the SCQF Framework
– Chartered member of CIPD
– Significant Human Resources (HR) generalist experience working in a multi-site environment
– Track record in delivering successful organisational development projects
– Extensive working knowledge of employment legislation and its practical application
– Previous experience of restructuring, change management and Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment Regulations (TUPE)
– Previous line management experience
– Ability to evidence strong, effective, communication and influencing skills at all levels
– Ability to demonstrate planning and organisational skills, as well ability to provide a reactive response as required
– Ability to evidence strong problem-solving skills and implement HR solutions
– Ability to research and/or analyse and produce high quality written work (for example reports, guidelines, policies and procedures, letters and statistics) using a variety of mediums
– Willingness and ability to work outside standard office hours if required
– Willingness to keep professional knowledge up to date including changes to employment legislation
– Willingness and ability to represent the HR function at internal and external events
– Hold a valid Driving Licence and have access to own car
Desirable Skills:
– Relevant degree in management or management qualification
– Recognised qualification in coaching practice
– Recognised mediation qualification
– Good working knowledge of Data Protection and relevant legislation
– Previous experience of designing and delivering HR related training for staff at all levels
– Ability to evidence mediation skills
