IT Project Manager
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh / Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit an IT Project Manager for an initial 12 month contract with option to extend on a rate of £425/day (Outside IR35). This role is predominately hybrid working with 1-2 days in office per week.
Responsibilities:
– Putting in place professional, robust and effective project management mechanisms and documentation to control, manage and deliver assigned IT and digital projects successfully. This includes supporting the team with effectively estimating timelines and adhering to plans.
– Facilitate and support sprint planning meetings, ensuring BA’s, Testers, Developers and Transformation understand the requirements, how they are being built/tested and the impact to end users.
– Facilitate and direct project team members throughout the project life cycle, and engage with project and technical staff, stakeholders and suppliers to design, control and deliver the desired project outcomes.
– Ensure detailed tracking of project plans, providing status reports and other required communications to highlight progress against agreed baseline plans and to ensure project delivery transparency and assured progression through project lifecycles.
Essential Skills:
– Qualified in project management and have experience in all aspects of the project lifecycle.
– Experienced and comfortable in operating in both an agile and a waterfall environment.
– Experienced in running sprint planning sessions and directing the team through the sprints to ensure delivery.
– Experience delivering complex and wide-ranging IT business projects across digital programme portfolio.
– Experienced communicator, with a strong ability in bringing people together to achieved joint outcomes.
– Experience of engaging authoritatively and effectively with IT and business colleagues as well as and external partners to devise and plan the required solutions, tasks and activities.
– Experience of successfully delivery of custom-built applications, working through the lifecycle to deliver value to business stakeholders.
