Junior Sous Chef
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Falkirk, is currently looking to recruit a Junior Sous Chef for a until 31st October 2024 contract on a rate of £13.52/hour PAYE. The working hours for this role will be 7.30am – 4.30pm, 4 days a week –  32 hours a week.
 
Responsibilities:
 
– Daily running of the kitchen
– Food preparation as required
– Working alongside Head & Sous Chef and the front of house team to ensure the smooth running of the organisation’s offer
– Wood fired Pizza Oven on occasion
– Ensuring health and safety records are kept up to date.
– Managing food purchase and storage
– Menu planning and managing COS in line with budgets
– Maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
– Be aware of the food preparation level during busy and quiet times.
 
Essential Skills:
 
– NVQ Level 2 or above in Catering
– Minimum Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
– Previous experience working in a similar role
– Good communication and team working
– Highly organised with excellent planning
– Able to work under pressure in a high-paced environment
– A full driving licence
