Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Developer for an initial 6 month contract with potential to extend on a rate of £581/day (Outside IR35). This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office.
 
Responsibilities:
 
– To provide technical leadership, mentorship and delivery capability to a newly established team with pressing need to migrate to a new AWS platform in order to meet organisational cost reduction and modernisation objectives.
 
Essential Skills:
 
– Experience of working with, building, modernisation and migration of Java and Spring Boot based microservices
– Experience of working with public cloud technologies (for this role, we require AWS specifically)
– Experience of TDD and Unit-Test tooling
– Experience of acting in a position of seniority within engineering teams within projects to deliver/enhance public facing services
– Familiar with JavaScript and best-practice approaches
– Demonstrable experience in mentoring and conducting knowledge transfer to junior permanent in-house staff
 
Desirable Skills:
 
– Experience of working with Terraform scripts
– Experience of working with TypeScript
– Experience of working with AuroraDB or MySQL
– Experience with Linux based shell scripting
