M365 Engineer
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Senior Application Operation Engineer (M365) for an initial 6 month contract with option to extend on a rate of £450/day (Inside IR35). This role can be remote based although it would be preferred to attend meetings in the office based in Glasgow when required.
Responsibilities:
– Maintain secure configuration and accurate information, controlling it assets in one or more significant areas
– Verify the location and state of assets
– Manage service components to ensure they meet business needs and performance targets
– Analyse and assess impact, and develop and document change requests
– Implement changes based on requests for change
– Identify process optimisation opportunities with guidance, and contribute to the implementation of proposed solutions
– Diagnose and prioritise incidents, investigate their causes and find resolutions
– Own an issue until a new owner has been found or the problem has been mitigated or resolved
– Initiate and monitor actions to investigate patterns and trends to resolve problems
– Effectively consult specialists where required
– Determine the appropriate remedy and assist with its implementation
– Determine preventative measures
– Take inputs and establish coherent frameworks that work
– Use management system software and tools
– Use logical schemata to investigate problems, collect performance statistics and create reports
– Carry out the routine configuration, installation and reconfiguration of database and related products
– Optimise performance and forecast resource needs
– Understand the core technical concepts related to the role, and apply them with guidance
– Review requirements and specifications, and define test conditions
– Identify issues and risks associated with work
– Analyse and report test activities and results
– Identify and engage with users or stakeholders to collate user needs evidence
– Understand and define research that fits user needs
– Use quantitative and qualitative data about users to turn user focus into outcomes
Essential Skills:
– Have specialist knowledge of the applications (M365) that they support, and an understanding of the platforms and environments that support these. They will have an understanding of how their service(s) help support the wider strategic priorities of the business.
-Can communicate with senior, non-technical managers the benefits, risks and strategic operational considerations of IT solutions and their technical design. This includes explaining the impact of any technical decisions on the sustainability of the solution.
– Demonstrable experience of the practical use of Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including experience of database design, documentation and coding. The ability to apply technical knowledge and skills to monitor and support services and identify areas for improvement to deliver additional value to business users.
– Familiar with Standards associated with IT practice nationally and internationally and how they should be applied, including demonstrable experience of the practical use of ITIL, Prince 2 or Agile methodologies to support change and to meet customers’ needs.
– A commitment to continual service improvement; you will be willing to challenge established practices, using evidence to deliver a better service to our customers. This will include streamlining processes and reducing costs to ensure you can focus on delivering support for new business critical technologies.
– Have proven analytical, planning, organizational and project management skills, including the ability to balance competing and shifting priorities to meet tight deadlines. Ability to work on own initiative and without close supervision.
– The ability to develop and maintain effective collaborative working relationships with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders, with the ability to influence outcomes to deliver value for customers.
