People and Wellbeing Partner
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow/Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a People and Wellbeing partner for an initial 3 month contract with option to extend on a rate of £20.22/ Hour PAYE. This is a hybrid role with the occasional day in the office required.


Main Duties:
 
–  To support the client in the day to day generalist support proving professional, effective and holistic human resources service across key areas such as health, safety and wellbeing
– Work in partnership building good trusting relationships with all staff, panel and board members
– Provide professional early advice and support in line with legislative and best practice guidance to our people through one to one support and training, providing creative solutions to people issues at the earliest opportunity
– Draft and create policies and procedures in line with legislation and best practice, to be added to our library, to support our work and embed our values
– Support the Head of People is supporting our wellbeing framework with creative, innovative solutions activities in our approach to build a culture of self-care, work life balance and trauma informed practice
– Maintaining records to ensure our systems are accurate and up-to-date and extract data to prepare reports, analysis and recommendations linked to continuous improvement
– Takes overall responsibility for the achievement of own aims and objectives and identifies the gaps and opportunities to improve effectiveness with the team
– Ability to network effectively with any external agencies and partners to seek and provide necessary people support and / or information
– Coordinates case management for people issues and ensure effective support in relation to employee relations, absence management and support, appraisals, performance management, recruitment, health and safety working closely with internal stakeholders and third party providers
– Is able to support change management processes, prepare reports and business cases and draft correspondence in line with areas of responsibility including attending meetings to take minutes for people case work
– Understands the need for openness and transparency adhering and applying to all processes and controls financial, procurement, people management and the need for professional boundaries etc)
– Work and build relationships with external providers and support external processes such as pensions, occupational health, employee assistance and our benefits platforms,
– Is able to work digitally and ensure that own skills are up to date with changing technology to ensure efficiency and consistency of support, including our HR system – people first
– Dealing with issues with sensitivity and ensuring confidentiality
– Able to work flexibility to meet the demands of the role
 
Essential Skills:
 
– Experience of providing professional guidance and support to line managers in the possible issues of well-being, health and safety, conduct, capability and absence management, recruitment, employee surveys and assisting with the processes to support employee benefits and entitlements
– Experience of dealing with complex people issues and case management to effective and supportive conclusion, in line good practice, legislative guidance and values
– Great organisational skills with experience of writing reports, policies and procedures and benchmarking with other providers to ensure that we are an employer of choice
– Excellent IT skills with exceptional proficiency in the use of Word, Excel and Access and will easily adapt skills to become proficient with bespoke systems and digitals technologies to support hybrid working
– Previous experience of training others in people processes, building confidence and capability to ensure across the organisation to ensure people are supported proactively and effectively
– Experience of working to engage our people to ensure that we listen, learn and continuous improve what we do and how we do it
– Ability to travel to other locations when required to meet the demands of the role
– Able to work as part of a team, with very good communication skills and capable of responding to tasks, projects and challenges with flexibility.
– Excellent communication skills with a wide range of people including external stakeholders ensuring our values throughout
– The ability to develop an understanding of trauma and how it impacts on people, with the resilience to cope with being exposed to, and hearing about, experiences of historical abuse
– Has a relevant qualification in Personnel Management or has sufficient experience in a similar environment
– Member of CIPD or shows a commitment self-development and CPD
– Is able to build effective relationships by networking, listening and understanding specific and individual needs and address them appropriately
– Must have good Wi-Fi connectivity and a private place to work from home due to the nature of work.
 
Desirable Skills:
 
– A general understanding of residential child care and education and the experience of survivors of historical abuse in care
