Project Manager (part time)
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Stirling, is currently looking to recruit a Project Manager for an initial 6 month contract – working 2.5 days per week – on a rate of £400-£500/day (Inside IR35). This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office – occasionally there may also be meetings in central Glasgow or Edinburgh.
Responsibilities:
To assist with organisational change activities, focusing primarily on the programme related to organisational change. Support will include:
– Lead the planning and execution of the organisational change programme, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and governance standards.
– Develop and implement robust governance frameworks to ensure projects are executed effectively and appropriate controls, reporting, and risk management are in place.
– Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, team heads, and external partners, to ensure alignment and effective organisational communication.
– Guide the organisation through the organisational changes, ensuring smooth transitions in areas such as role restructuring, process improvement, and staff engagement.
– Manage project resources, including budgets, to ensure the cost-effective delivery of project outcomes while ensuring value for money in line with public sector requirements.
– Set up mechanisms to track project performance and key deliverables. Provide regular reports to the leadership team and Board, highlighting progress, risks, and areas for improvement.
– Identify project risks and issues and manage mitigation strategies to keep the project on track.
– Ensure that lessons learned are documented upon completion and that a smooth handover is in place so the operational teams can continue managing any long -term organisational changes.
Essential Skills:
– Proven experience leading organisational change programmes.
– Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, risk identification, and mitigation strategies to ensure effective project delivery.
– Excellent communication skills to collaborate with senior leadership, team heads, and external stakeholders.
– Skilled in setting up mechanisms to monitor project performance and delivering concise reports on progress, risks, and recommendations
– Relevant qualifications in project or change management.
Desirable Skills:
– Knowledge of public sector
– Knowledge of PRINCE2 methodology
