Quantity Surveyor
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh / Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor for an initial 12 month contract with option to extend on a rate of £450/day (Inside IR35). This role will be working from home.
Responsibilities:
– Cost analysis and advice on value for money of applications to support the delivery of affordable housing
– Comparative analysis of cost and price trends over time, linked to the delivery of affordable housing
– Advice on housing related issues to include procurement, contract conditions, quality standards, energy efficiency, modern methods of construction, cost over runs, dispute resolution
Essential Skills:
– Degree in Quantity Surveying and full Member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)
– Evidence of appropriate continuing professional development to meet RICS requirements
– Relevant, demonstrable, post Chartered experience in pre and post contract work including social housing projects
– Experience/knowledge of public sector construction procurement
Desirable Skills:
– Experience/knowledge of resolution of contractual disputes including in social housing projects
– Experience of cost benefit analysis for complex housing proposals
– Experience in presenting technical information to a variety of audiences
– Ability to demonstrate knowledge of current building standard and planning policies
