Receptionist
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Renfrewshire, is currently looking to recruit a Receptionist for an initial 12 – week’s contract with potential to extend on a rate of £13.93 PAYE. This role will be based on the site office.

- Providing a full reception service in this busy and challenging location.
- To welcome visitors and customers to the building.
- To receive and deal with customer and visitor enquiries.
- To refer customers to the service centre where appropriate.
- To record enquiry stats via our Queue Management System
- To issue and ensure the return of security passes,
- To receive hand-delivered mail and deliveries of stationery, equipment furniture etc;
- To assist council officers in the monitoring of CCTV security cameras when required
- To arrange for collection by the addressee of urgent hand-delivered mail/parcels immediately after receipt;
- To arrange for non-urgent mail to be conveyed to the mail room.
- To arrange with the Council Officer or assistant either the temporary storage of goods which are delivered or conveyance to the receiving department;
- To provide cover for Eastwood H.Q. Council Office Reception when required.
- To undertake general clerical/admin duties
- To carry out any other duties as required by the line manager consistent with the post
- 3 Standard Grades or Equivalent
- Experience of delivering excellent Customer Service
- Ability to deal with customer enquiries and complaints
- Understanding of systems, processes and responsibility of a council service
- Experience of working in a reception environment
- Good telephone manner
- Good level of IT awareness, including the operation of Microsoft Office
- Ability to deal confidently and tactfully with people at all levels
- Good Organisational skills Ability to process information effectively
- An understanding of equality and diversity issues.
- Ability to keep abreast of organisational change
- An interest in customer service and exceeding customer expectations
- Good communications skills
- Good interpersonal skills, showing sympathy and sensitivity where appropriate

Desirable Skills:
- SVQ level 2 Administration or Customer Care or HNC in related Discipline
- Operation of a range of council systems and processes
- The ability to undertake additional tasks to support the Customer Service officers
- Ability to prioritise and effectively organise workload
- Demonstrate initiative
- Be proactive in suggesting service improvements and enhancements
- Able to work at different locations
