Rent Officer
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Dundee, is currently looking to recruit a Rent Officer for an initial 3 month contract with potential to extend on a rate of £16.64/hour PAYE. This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office. The working hours are 37 hours per week.
– Determining rents for tenants served with a rent increase notice by their landlord under the new Private Residential Tenancy agreements.
– Determining an amount for landlord improvements to properties within a designated Rent Pressure Zone once legislation in force.
– Carrying out internal and external property inspections or desk based assessments, when required, in connection with rental valuation and Housing Benefit determinations.
– Accurately identifying and collecting suitable rental market evidence from letting and estate agents and landlords and recording it in the RSS internal IT database.
– Determining rents for Local Authority Housing Benefit subsidy purposes.
– Assisting the Team Leader in quality assuring all lettings information.
– Continually reviewing and establishing new sources of letting information and actively identifying and filling any gaps in the data.
– Building effective working relationships and providing information to key stakeholders, including Local Authority Housing Benefit Departments, landlords, their agents and representative bodies as well as tenants and their representatives.
Essential Skills:
– Valid driver’s licence
