Risk Management Officer
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Risk Officer for an initial 6 month contract commencing mid-March with potential to extend for a further 6 months on a salary of £47,730-£59,152/annum. This role will be hybrid working with the expectation to work in the office 2-3 days per week. Travel pass provided.
Responsibilities:
– Assisting in the development and implementation of consistent and best practice compliant risk management arrangements in line with the approved Risk Management Strategy across the organisation.
– Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with service contacts.
– Guiding and supporting subsidiaries in the preparation, maintenance and monitoring of risk registers and risk control plans for governance, strategic and operational risks
– Providing advice, guidance, and support to progress risk management arrangements across the organisation.
– To contribute input to reports to senior management, Audit & Risk Committees and Boards as required.
– To deliver risk management training and awareness sessions to management and risk owners.
Essential Skills:
– Educated to HND/SVQ4/degree level or equivalent, membership of a recognised Risk Management body and/or a Risk Management qualification are desirable.
– Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, coupled with the ability to communicate information on risk requirements in an accessible way for a non-expert audience. Proven organisational and planning skills, including the ability to manage complex requirements and meet tight deadlines.
– Excellent inter-personal skills and proven ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment, building constructive relationships with colleagues to deliver business objectives
– Have risk management experience gained in a large public or private sector organisation with experience of delivering risk management initiatives, providing advice and guidance on risk management, on the development and monitoring of risk registers and on the development of management information.
– Experience in the preparation, maintenance, and monitoring of risk registers: governance, strategic and operational risks
Desirable Skills:
– Experience in providing higher-level advice and guidance on risk management and contributing to reporting to stakeholders (Board, audit committee etc)
