Seasonal Chargehand Gardener
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Ayrshire, is currently looking to recruit 4 x Seasonal Chargehand Gardener for 6 month contracts on a rate of £14.33/hour (PAYE). The working hours for this role is Monday -Thursday – 7:00am – 4:30pm.
Responsibilities:
– Manage the team on a day to day basis
– Complete the necessary Paperwork on a daily basis
– General maintenance including grass cutting and ground maintenance
– Assisting higher graded gardeners under minimal supervision
– Following oral and written instructions
– Operation of ground care equipment – powered hand tools, ride on plant machinery including inspection, routine maintenance and cleaning
– Implement good Health & Safety Practices & Standards in the Work Place
– To apply and adhere to council policies and procedures
– Ensure adherence to relevant legislation, external policy and safe practices
– To carry out such other duties consistent with the post if and when required or instructed
– Carry out duties consistent with the post as may be required by your Line Manager.
Essential Skills:
– Complete relevant paperwork pertaining to the post
– Work with limited supervision to Foreperson’s/Team Leader’s instructions to deliver quality standards
– Work as part of a small team
– To adapt within a flexible working environment
– Meet the standards required under the Values and Behaviours of organisation
– Full Current Driving Licence
– Communicating effectively with colleagues and members of the public
– Customer care
– Line managing a small team
– Problem solving within the working environment
– Clear written communications through completion of all work-related paperwork
– Working in all weather conditions
– Horticultural and grounds maintenance practice
– Health and Safety working practices in relation to Grounds Maintenance operations
