Seasonal Gardener
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Troon, is currently looking to recruit x 4 Seasonal Gardeners for initial 6 month contracts on a rate of £13.79/hour PAYE – working 32 hours per week, Monday – Thursday. These roles will be based onsite in Troon.
Responsibilities:
– General maintenance including grass cutting and ground maintenance
– Assisting higher graded gardeners under minimal supervision
– Following oral and written instructions from the Chargehand and Foreman
– Operation of ground care equipment – powered hand tools, ride on plant machinery including inspection, routine maintenance and cleaning
– Implement good Health & Safety Practices & Standards in the workplace
– To apply and adhere to policies and procedures
– Ensure adherence to relevant legislation, external policy and safe practices
– To carry out such other duties consistent with the post if and when required or instructed
Essential Skills:
– Able to work as part of a small team
– Able to adapt within a flexible working environment
– Ability to meet the standards of performance required under the Values and Behaviours of the organisation
– Experience of communicating effectively with colleagues and members of the public
– Experience of customer care
– Experience of problem solving within the working environment
– Experience in working in all weather conditions
– Experience of operating mechanised ground care equipment
– Proven Technical Understanding of Horticultural and grounds maintenance practice
