Senior Finance Manager
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow/Dundee, is currently looking to recruit a Senior Finance Manager for an initial 12-month contract with potential to extend on a rate of £560/day Inside IR35. This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office. 
 
Responsibilities: 
 
  • Lead on Transition and Change Delivery for the organisation. 
  • Leading on impacting the financial implications of the development of a new operating model. 
  • Ensuring that effective systems and processes are in place, working closely with internal and external stakeholders  
  • Lead the production of high-quality financial forecasts and reporting.  
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting and financial regulations and accounting standards.  
  • Represent Corporate Finance at relevant governance boards, providing professional and specialist advice. 
  • Ensuring appropriate treatment of capital expenditure and the transfer of assets. 
 
Essential Skills: 
 
  • Your professional skills and experience will allow you to assess and analyse the financial impact of significant organisational change, clearly identifying assumptions and risks within forecasts. 
  • Your professional skills and experience will allow you to navigate audit and accounting requirements in relation to a high-profile programme of work, and develop these in practice. You will be confident in generating, identifying, interrogating and assessing appropriate financial data to support decision making and significant organisational change, assuring appropriate accountability and value for public funds. 
  • The post holder will need to be able to use effective leadership skills to be able to deliver results, promote collaborative working, and make connections across subject boundaries. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate how they can provide clear direction to navigate complex issues and competing perspectives at different levels, both internally and externally 
  • Professionally qualified accountant – CCAB/CIMA/CA professional accountancy body or equivalent with up-to-date CPD. 
  • Change Management – proven experience in impacting and communicating significant organisational change. 
  • Significant financial management or analytical experience across large and complex organisations, including interpreting complex financial data. 
  • Proven ability to work on your own initiative, to deliver high-quality outcomes and outputs and to meet deadlines whilst managing competing pressures.  
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to explain financial or technical information effectively to non-finance/non-technical stakeholders and to influence change. 
 
 
Desirable Skills: 
  • Knowledge of Scottish financial systems, processes, policies and procedures.  
  • Awareness of GDPR/ Data privacy legislation.
