Senior Governance Manager
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Senior Governance Manager on a permanent basis on a salary of £44,709 – £53,347/annum, excellent benefits including Civil Service Pension and 25 days annual leave (rising to 30 days after 4 years’ service) plus 11.5 public and privilege holidays. This role will be hybrid working with 2 to 3 days in the Edinburgh office per week.
Responsibilities:
– Lead adviser on the LOAD Delivery Framework which underpins the delivery of Change within the organisation. Building and maintaining strong relationships across the business, including supporting operations and our Executive Change Board.
– Maintaining the organisation’s LOAD Framework and guidance to ensure that the organisation’s approach is in line with its changing operating environment and wider good practice.
– Supporting business Units to ensure all collateral and artefacts are in place to support each phase of the LOAD delivery framework demonstrating governance and control of delivering Change initiatives., Conduct internal assurance on compliance reviews against Load and alignment to Digital Service Standards Scotland DSSS).
– Help to improve the LOAD framework knowledge and capability, thereby, driving improvement and standardisation to improve overall organisational delivery of change
– Managing and maintaining the Load Framework and Change governance with the annual programme of activities (review of strategy and guidance, plans, and testing).
– Oversee the management and facilitation of Governance forums and capturing actions and tracking of changes initiatives submitted.
– Supporting business units in the education and knowledge of the LOAD framework and develop tools, and standards for the delivery of Change Work with the organisation. Assist in the development of Corporate Templates for Business Cases and delivery of benefits and value. Support the wider organisation with lessons learned activities on delivering Change Initiatives.
– Developing and managing reporting to inform decision-making on Change initiative from submission to closure, risks and opportunities.
– Working with internal and external stakeholders to build and maintain constructive relationships to foster an improved joined-up approach.
– Staying up to date with industry / sector best practice and incorporate good practice into the organisation’s approach.
– Provide excellent customer service and build trust in the delivery of Change and related services.
– Be a trusted go-to point for colleagues looking to take forward Change initiatives, understand the LOAD framework, source templates and standards to be followed.
– Lead effective team meetings, generating ideas, sharing knowledge, prompting discussion, improvements and providing feedback on activities and organisational development.
– Produce concise, understandable and well-written work, including reports to senior managers and external stakeholders.
– Design and deliver professional, tailored and blended training solutions across the organisation to ensure the understanding of process and standards to promote compliance.
Essential Skills:
– Certification and demonstrable experience working with Agile Methodology or another Project Management methodology OR Certification and demonstrable experience in auditing of Compliance of Change projects.
– Experience with the auditing of compliance for project delivery against agile delivery frameworks.
– Knowledge of risk management principles and applying these in a business environment.
– Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels to achieve desired results with the ability to collate, analyse and present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
– Ability to work independently, managing multiple priorities and competing demands.
– Experience of performing in delivery / operational roles, including, risk management, change management, performance reporting, and continuous improvement programmes
– Experience of facilitating events and / or training others to build skills and capacity across teams.
Desirable Skills:
– Ability to drive improvement and standardisation across a business area to support and improve compliance and assurance on Delivery of Change.
