Senior HR Job Analyst
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit 10x Senior HR Job Analysts for an initial 6 month contract with option to extend on an hourly rate of £18-£21PAYE. Role will be based onsite in Glasgow city centre.
Responsibilities:
– Undertaking the lead role in Job Evaluation Interviews, explaining the purpose, and steps undertaken as part of the job evaluation scheme.
– Engaging with services to develop a working knowledge of organisational structures, work activities and roles relevant to those areas being evaluated.
– Facilitate meetings with line managers and participants across the organisation to verify interview outcomes.
– Actively participate in the job evaluation quality assurance process, articulating findings of interviews and collaborating with the wider team to ensure consistency in approach.
– Provide technical advice to Job Evaluation appeals panels.
– Manage own workload and that of Job Analysts to ensure that the Job Evaluation exercise is delivered efficiently and on time.
– Mentor and develop Job Analysts.
– Deliver Job Evaluation briefings to employees and support awareness raising campaigns.
Essential Skills:
– Ability to set targets, monitor and review team performance through effective management.
– An effective communicator who can explain processes and asks probing questions to extract concise information from individuals or groups.
– Can manage relationships and discussions with internal and external customers.
– Knowledge of computer software packages such as Microsoft Office (Word/excel), SAP.
– Has the ability to be an effective and collaborative team worker with an ability to work alone.
– Shows an enthusiastic & positive manner.
– Demonstrates a flexible approach to the needs of the department/ service
– Is sensitive to others concerns and talks to them when decisions affect them.
– Explains why decisions have been made and asks questions to check understanding.
– Uses good arguments and reason to negotiate with other people.
– Spots problems and acts as soon as possible to stop them getting worse or developing into a situation.
– Looks for ways to help other people solve problems and get results.
– Organises workload by thinking about deadlines and how important different tasks are and is realistic about the time needs to complete an activity
Desirable Skills:
– CIPD membership
– Related professional/technical qualification and/or continuing CPD.
– Familiar in use of Gauge job evaluation software or similar packages.
– Has working knowledge of Job Evaluation principles.
– Ability to manage difficult conversations.
– Involves team in helping to make decisions or plans and values people’s contributions.
– Only misses deadlines due to circumstances beyond own control.- Works well with tight deadlines, when time is short and there are conflicting priorities
