Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for an initial 6 month contract with potential to extend on a salary of £57,360 to £63,104/annum. This role will be based in Edinburgh.
Responsibilities:
– To provide technical support to Project Managers and Estates Maintenance teams on design, operation, maintenance and safety of mechanical systems.
– Undertake inspections of installed systems and audits of working practices to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and ensure safe operating conditions are maintained.
Essential Skills:
– Degree level qualification in a relevant Mechanical discipline.
-Member of a relevant professional body.
– Comprehensive experience of Mechanical design, design management and process, specially related to significant infrastructure projects. Demonstrating your ability to negotiate with and positively influence others to achieve desired project outputs and deliverables.
– Experience in undertaking, researching and developing strategic and/or specific responses to an estates business needs.
Desirable Skills:
– Specialist knowledge of mechanical systems related to Climate Change and Zero Direct emissions.
– Experience of defining and setting technical standards and monitoring performance, progress and delivery, initiating corrective actions and improvements as required.
