Senior Project Manager x 3
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit 3 x Senior Project Managers for initial 4 month contracts on a rate of £500-£600/day (Inside of IR35). These roles will be hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.

Responsibilities:
 
– To provide effective project management services for the delivery of high-quality solutions within the constraints of resource, time and quality
– To provide programme management services for one or more business areas working closely with customers and colleagues to ensure the delivery of the programme and its related projects and services, establishing the long-term vision and defining the annual plan for project delivery              
– To develop and maintain a detailed understanding of business processes and requirements ensuring business needs are effectively met through appropriate use of new technology and business process re-engineering  
– To provide senior representation for SCS and the organisation on appropriate internal and external groups          

Essential Skills:
 
– Extensive experience working as a Project Manager delivering successful solutions in challenging business environments
– In depth understanding of current industry best practice in project and programme management with the proven ability to adapt these to consistently deliver
– Developing and managing project and programme plans, benefits, risks, issues and other related information
– Identifying, securing and managing resources ensuring projects deliver to agreed scope/quality, budgets and timelines
– Influencing, guiding and challenging senior stakeholders
– Developing effective relationships and establishing trust with colleagues and customers
– Consistently obtaining results through others by effective coaching and mentoring and coaching
– Running workshops and delivering effective presentations to senior colleagues
– Procuring IT solutions with a good appreciation of the relevant procurement practices and legislation
– Clear and reasoned commitment to work in this role
– Effective written and verbal communication skills
– Comfortable engaging and networking with colleagues at all levels with ability to adapt your communications according to the audience 
– A natural leader who commands respect, builds effective teams and demonstrates clear ability to influence, guide and challenge
– Comfortable engaging and networking with colleagues at all levels with ability to adapt your communications according to the audience

Desirable Skills:
 
– Working as a programme manager to manage and deliver a number of closely related projects
– Contributing to the development and enhancement of programme and project management processes, standards and methodologies
– Working as a business analyst to define, specify and deliver business solutions
– Good understanding of current industry best practice in business analysis
– Developing and implementing a targeted communications strategy to successfully deliver change
– Awareness and understanding of current information technology developments
– Strong risk management knowledge and mind set. A track record demonstrating the consistent ability to focus on what can go wrong and taking appropriate and timely mitigating action  
– Active interest in continuing professional development
– Relevant project / programme management or business analysis qualification e.g. APM, PRINCE, MSP or ISEB certification
