Senior Software Developer
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Cardiff, is currently looking to recruit a Senior Software Developer for an initial 6 month contract with option to extend on a rate of £238.06/day (Inside IR35). This role will be remote working with the odd visit to Cardiff throughout the duration of the contract.
Responsibilities:
– Work in structured Scrum teams under experienced leads.
– Be responsible for delivering individual software components.
– Be involved in MS SQL Server development, including design, implementation, and performance optimisation.
– Broaden your skills through collaboration and mentorship.
Essential Skills:
– Degree in relevant technical subject or equivalent experience
– Strong T-SQL skills: Writing complex stored procedures and functions.
– Proficiency with SQL Server Management Studio (2008 – 2019).
– Experience creating and using SSIS packages (2008+).
– Database design using normalization and ER-diagramming techniques.
Desirable Skills:
– XML Web Services or Web APIs.
– API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SOAP UI).
– Agile methodologies such as Scrum.
– Version control with Team Foundation Server or Azure DevOps.
– Microsoft Azure Cloud services.
– Healthcare data standards like HL7 v2.x and FHIR.
– Redgate SQL developer tools.
– Requirements analysis and business logic development.
– Unit testing with TSQLT.
– PowerShell or Unix scripting.
– High Availability: Mirroring, Replication, Clustering, Always On (Availability Groups).
– Performance tuning tools: SQL Profiler, Query Analyzer.
– Microsoft Power BI for data visualization.
