Site Engineer Supervisor
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Fort William, is currently looking to recruit a Site Engineer Supervisor for a contract until February 2026 on a rate of £26.29 – £28.75/hour PAYE. The working hours for this role are 8am to 5pm, 3 days per week on site and 2 days in office.
Responsibilities:
– Management and supervision of site supervisory staff and trainees.
– Arranging procedures for the monitoring, control and reporting of the road construction.
– Ensuring contractual compliance and auditing of construction work.
– Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
– Liaising with members of the public, utilities and landowners.
– Chairing meetings & making presentations.
– Assessing, agreeing and certifying Contractor submissions.
– Inspection of civil engineering works.
Essential Skills:
– Civil Engineering Qualification.
– Minimum of 7 years’ experience of civil engineering projects including site supervision, reporting and construction knowledge; preferably with some roads experience.
– Experience in contract administration, including cloud-based systems.
– Experience of specification and materials compliance.
– Experience of Health and Safety legislation implementation.
– Some experience in the management of site supervisory staff and trainees.
– Knowledge of Technical Specifications, Design Standards and Codes of Practice, including Manuals of Contract Documents for Highway Works.
– You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
– Good IT skills including project programming software.
– Committed team worker, also able to take responsibility and work on own initiative.
Desirable Skills:
– Holder of an appropriate CSCS card.
– Incorporated Engineer status through ICE, CIHT, or equivalent institution.
– Streetworks Supervisor Qualification.
