Stewards
Venesky-Brown’s client, Forestry and Land Scotland in Glenmore, is currently looking to recruit 8 x Stewards from 27th May – 30th September with potential to extend on a rate of £14.68/per hour PAYE. The working hours will vary between hours of 8am-10pm and the shifts will be 6 hours long. These roles will be based onsite.

Responsibilities:
 
– Welcome visitors to the site
– Provide information on the site facilities
– Impart our “Key messages” to visitors regarding safety, parking and site rules
– Inform the public on the environmental importance of the site and why it is special – please help to look after it
– Litter picking
– Checking toilets and reporting issues to staff
– Escalating any potential issues (i.e. fires) to staff
– Help to manage traffic flow in the glen – i.e. direct people to available car parks and help to guide people to available spaces and manage traffic flow.
– Encouraging the public to pay for parking (although this does not involve issuing of fines or engaging in difficult conversations)
 

Essential Skills:
 
– Physically fit – could be walking 6-8 miles per day in all weather conditions
– Communication skills – public engagement key part of role, must be confident, friendly and able to talk to members of the public.
– Experience of in working in a customer service role is necessary
– Ability to remain professional, calm and courteous in all communications.
 
Desirable Skills:
 
– Interest in conservation and environment – this is a designated National Nature Reserve and has several environmental protections in place.
