Stores Person Assistant
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Storesperson Assistant for a permanent contract on a rate of £26,316 – £30,668 per annum. This role will be based onsite. The working hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday with a two shift pattern.

Responsibilities:
 
– Support the Stores Supervisor and Maintenance Planner to ensure material is organised and made available for distribution in line with Maintenance Plans.
– Organise and assemble materials in kits, lineside material or within the stores facility in line with maintenance plans and requirements. 
– Issue and return stock materials directly as and when required.
– Manage the receipting/ dispatch of all goods inward/outward of the stores facility.
– Ensure the effective housekeeping of all store areas and annexes of the stores and other areas as required.
– Ensure the effective management and upkeep of all stores records both written and electronic. 
– Assist in the sourcing, requisitioning, approving and processing of materials to meet stock and maintenance needs.
– Assist in the effect control and upkeep of calibrated tools and equipment.
– Carry out forklift daily checks and forklift truck duties within the site as required. Provide van driving support as and when required.
– Carry out racking and stock audits and inspections as required.
– Assist in the management of COSHH for items contained within the stores facility.
– Ensure the application of all work procedures and work instructions required for the operation of Stores and material distribution, in line with the organisation’s quality and safety systems.
 

Essential Skills:
 
– Working Unsociable Hours 
– Driving Licence
– National 5 Level A-C or equivalent in English and Maths/Arithmetic
– Knowledge of a range of software including email
– Knowledge of kitting of parts in an operational maintenance environment
– Knowledge of stock audits and inspections
– Experienced as a Logistics Support Assistant
– Experience in kitting of parts
– Experience of forklift duties and daily checks
– Experience of carrying out stock audits and inspections
– Computer literate, confident using a range of software including email
– Ability to input data accurately
– High calibre administrative skills in relation to the organisation, issue and return of stock materials
– Ability to effectively control the calibration of tools and equipment
– Ability to work as part of a team or autonomously
– Capable of working to deadlines, schedules and programmes
– Aptitude to adjust plans as required and propose amendments to existing plans as appropriate
– Highly motivated and reliable
– Good communication skills, both verbal and written
– Team player, keen to contribute to the effective and efficient running of the Stores operation
– Compliant, able to operate safely within the Rules and Regulations defined
– Focused on continuous improvement in terms of supporting maintenance activities
 
 
Desirable Skills:
 
– Higher Level A-C or equivalent in English and Maths
– Subway Rules, Regulations and Health & Safety requirements
– Experience of calibration process
– Ability to ensure a good standard of housekeeping within the stores area
– Car Ownership
