Strategic Planning and Governance Lead
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh/Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Strategic Planning and Governance Lead for a up to 6 month contract on a rate circa £650/day (Outside IR35).. This role is mostly working from home with option to work onsite. Option for candidates to work 4 days a week.
Responsibilities:
– To create and develop a centre of excellence and expertise across a varied and complex portfolio in order to provide the Executive Management Team with high levels of assurance in areas of significant risk
– To provide clear advice on all key areas of responsibility to the Executive Management Team have well-developed strategies for ongoing compliance with laws, regulations and standards.
– To analyse and distil complex information on all key areas of responsibility accurately, succinctly and persuasively in order that colleagues of all levels are clear about approach to compliance with laws, regulations and standards.
– To direct, manage and lead corporate planning team so they provide high quality support for the Board of Management, the Executive Management Team and Heads of Service in order to deliver corporate reporting, risk management and strategic planning compliant with laws, regulations and standards.
– Experience in leading and developing a team whose focus is on dealing with complex casework of a sensitive nature that involves multiple agencies and carries significant reputational risk to the organization
Essential Skills:
– Have an excellent working knowledge of the statutory environment and responsibilities.
– As a minimum be educated to SCQF level 9 or have significant experience in a similar senior post (5 – 10 years)
– Experience in leading and developing a team whose focus is on dealing with complex casework of a sensitive nature that involves multiple agencies and carries significant reputational risk to the organisation
– High level stakeholder management skills, gained through working collaboratively with a variety of senior leaders.
– A proven track record of operational delivery and managing and coordinating a large team
– Demonstrable ability to understand, analyse and distil complex information to communicate key facts accurately, succinctly and persuasively.
– Proven project management and organisational skills and the ability to manage consultation processes effectively.
– Proven ability to establish personal credibility quickly, demonstrate the organisation’s values and build trust with colleagues at all levels.
– Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while working with ambiguity.
– Evidence of sound judgment and a people-focused and flexible approach.
– Highly developed written and oral communication skills, including evidence of the ability to produce high quality reports.
– Experience of managing a significant budget and a proven track record of effective resource management
