Strategic Workforce PLanning Lead
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Strategic Workforce Planning Lead for an initial 4 month contract with possibility of extension on a rate of c.£450/day (Inside IR35).
Responsibilities:
– Working with the Head of People (HR and Learning and Skills Development) to develop a strategic workforce plan for organisation. This will include engagement with senior staff to develop a clear understanding of their business needs and objectives.
– Working with colleagues within the HR and Learning and Skills Development team to understand the culture and objectives with regard to resourcing, retention, development and employee engagement.
– Develop a clear comprehensive workforce plan mapping where we are now and recommending a route map to where we need to be by 2030 in order to deliver on the Corporate Strategy and Plan.
– The assignment will require the ability to analyse staffing MI, financial plans, budgets and corporate goals with a view to predicting likely impact on the agency’s workforce in the period 2026-2030.
– The organisation has commenced the actions required to form the basis of a strategic workforce plan, the focus of this role is to identify gaps, source information where required and to be the lead author on the strategic workforce plan.
Essential Skills:
– Experience of developing and successfully delivering a strategic workforce plan.
– The ability to quickly develop an understanding of Corporate Strategy and Plan.
– The ability to interpret financial data as it relates to workforce planning.
– Strong communication and influencing skills to enable effective engagement with senior staff.
– Scenario planning and modelling.
– A good understanding of the public sector.
– The ability to work across a range of professional teams.
