Supply Chain Assistant
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in East Kilbride, is currently looking to recruit a Supply Chain Assistant for an initial 4 month contract with option to extend on a rate of £13.32/hour PAYE – working 37 hours per week, 08:30-16:30 Monday-Thursday, 08:30-16:00 Friday. This role will be based in East Kilbride.
Responsibilities:
– Responsible for the purchase of all delegated goods and services for the organisation, in compliance with the organisation’s standing financial instructions as instructed by the first-line supervisor and senior management.
– Offer professional supplies support to all user departments including product information and pricing where appropriate.
– Providing provisional pricing and sourcing information for indents/requests from wards and departments whilst ensuring the utilisation of frameworks and contracts to the maximum extent.
– Expediting of all orders to ensure delivery timescales are met and appropriate paperwork passed for invoice processing.
– Dealing with invoice matching queries passed from the Finance Department.
– To deal with telephone calls and respond to queries in a timeous manner. Including supply chain or logistics tasks e.g. Urgent orders, allocation shortages, picking errors, returns to stores and logging complaints.
– Processing requests for new internal delivery address
– Ad hoc reporting
– Procurement systems housekeeping
– General filing
– Departmental mail rota
Essential Skills:
– Valid UK Driver’s licence
– Knowledge in using an integrated computer system is essential and experience in maintaining and updating system information is necessary.
– Must be highly IT literate.
– Should have 4 Standard Grades or be educated to SVQ2 level or equivalent OR should have 2 years’ experience in delivering customer focussed services and have strong communication and team-working skills are necessary.
Desirable Skills:
– Great customer service skills
– Great communication skills
– Team player
– Good computer skills (Microsoft office suite, ordering systems etc)
– Stores / Warehouse systems experience preferable but not essential
