System Tester
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Central Scotland, is currently looking to recruit a Test Engineer until the 28th of March 2025 with potential to extend on a rate of £400-£450/day (Inside IR35). This role will be remote based.
Responsibilities:
– You will be part of an established agile delivery team working to deliver a new public facing digital authorisation application service, associated back-office database and internal back-office system.
Essential Skills:
– Experience of designing and executing a wide range of functional and non-functional testing techniques
– Experience of communicating test results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
– Ability to identify defects, alerting the business to them, and helping to prioritise them based on severity
– Experience of creating test documentation and continually reviewing the test processes, proactively making improvements to benefit the quality of the project delivery and improve team efficiency
– Ability to write and execute SQL queries for Oracle database testing
– Having a good working knowledge of different tools, techniques and frameworks including but not limited to Automated testing frameworks such as Playwright and coding languages such as JavaScript / TypeScript / NodeJS, Cross browser testing tools such as BrowserStack, Test Management Tools such as Azure DevOps Test Plans and Source Code Management tools such as Git
– Working within agile delivery teams
Desirable Skills:
– Experience using Azure DevOps pipelines and boards as well as Azure cloud infrastructure and deployments using Azure services
– Knowledge of Oracle database structures, triggers and stored procedures
– Experience with performance testing techniques and practices using tools such as JMeter
– Understanding of Oracle APEX architecture with experience validating application functionality
– Experience in testing applications built on the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) or Dynamics 365
– Understanding of Angular with experience validating front-end behavior and functionality
