Systems & Architecture Consultant
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Systems & Architecture Consultant for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of £43.45 – £46.58/hour PAYE – working 37 hours per week. This role will have flexible working arrangements.
Responsibilities:
– Develop and progress architectural blueprints and architectural decision records in support of Digital Front Door and other major programmes.
– Liaison with digital teams around the assessment and design of future digital capabilities and integration of imminent NDP technologies with organisational systems
– Develop a target operating model for the maturation of architectural and systems design capability.
Essential Skills:
– In depth knowledge of the health and care technology landscape in Scotland
– Senior experience of leading others designing architectures defining the technology, people, process and other elements needed to achieve organisation objectives
– Working with others beyond the organisation to influence organisational structures, technology, people and processes to achieve objectives
– Making and guiding architectural design decisions characterised by high levels of risk and complexity.
– Identifying and addressing architectural risks across the organisation or wider government
– Experience of leading and evolving architectural governance and assurance
– Reputable experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders to provide specialist and forward-thinking technology expertise, analysis and direction
– Experience of communicating and influencing at senior level and of giving presentations at local/national levels
– Commitment to own personal and professional development, and for others in relation to communication and engagement best practice
– Evidence of personal resilience with ability to multi-task and operate effectively under pressure in a fast paced environment
– Ability to get the best from people through leadership of multidisciplinary teams, providing clear communication, support, motivation and encouraging innovation
– Extremely well-developed knowledge of architectural principles and processes and how these are best applied to highly visible public facing initiatives
– Excellent relationship building skills and interpersonal skills with proven ability to work collaboratively
– Effective communicator knowing how to communicate a vision to teams and stakeholders in language understandable by a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders (both verbally and in writing)
– The confidence and presence to operate at a senior level and to engage senior stakeholders
– Delivery focussed, you are disciplined and able to define and prioritise what’s most important and how to achieve that in the most efficient and effective way
– Ability to work to own initiative to organise and prioritise own workload and that of others to meet strict deadlines
– Ability to meet the travel requirements of the post
– Values driven leadership approach to practice, aligned with core organisational values
Desirable Skills:
– Degree level qualification with in-depth experience and postgraduate or post registration study, such as that obtained through a master’s degree or SCQF Level 11 equivalence obtained via Professional Development Awards; Graduate or Professional Apprenticeships; and SVQs
– Experience of complex environments where the parameters of the job are not necessarily clearly defined
– Knowledge of national and local health environments
– Experienced in leading the planning, execution, and reporting of delivery progress at a senior level
– Experience of communicating and publicising public facing services
– Strategic thinker
