Van Driver
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Van Driver for an initial 2 month contract with potential to extend on a rate of £12.91/hour PAYE. This role will be based onsite. The working hours are 35 hours per week, Mon – Thurs: 8.30am – 16.15pm, Friday: 8.30am – 15.00pm
Responsibilities:
– To assist resource centre staff in provision for the supply and distribution of stores items throughout the Service, which may include the process of indents from stations/sections, validate quantity levels and control supplies issued
– To carry out routine inspections and maintenance (e.g. oil, tyres and water) and cleaning of the organisation’s vehicles as directed or required
– To undertake duties to organisational mainland and islands as directed or required
– To recharge breathing apparatus cylinders as directed or required
– To attend and participate in a range of training courses commensurate with the post as directed or required
– To hold current LGV drivers licence and be prepared to undertake training to Large Goods Vehicles standards.
– To complete all paperwork associated with post and submit paperwork timeously to line manager
– To comply with organisation policies and procedures including Code of Conduct and Attendance Management.
– To comply with all aspects of Occupational Road Risk Management Arrangement (ORRMA) procedures as operated by the organisation
– To transport equipment, personnel, goods out with the organisation area as directed or required
– To carry out testing and maintenance of equipment as directed or required.
Essential Skills:
– Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance (e.g. oil, tyres and water)
– Driving Licence
– To be prepared to undertake training to Large Goods Vehicles standard if not already held
– Ability to travel – a driving license is essential as may be required to travel anywhere within Scottish region, mainland and islands as directed or required
– Demonstrates a fair and ethical approach in all situations

Desirable Skills:
– Previous experience transporting vehicles, goods and equipment
– Hold current LGV drivers licence
– Previous experience working in a distribution/stores environment
