Rent Officer
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Rent Officer for an initial 3 month contract with potential to extend on a rate of £16.64/hour PAYE. This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office. The working hours are 37 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
– Determining rents for tenants served with a rent increase notice by their landlord under the new Private Residential Tenancy agreements.
– Determining an amount for landlord improvements to properties within a designated Rent Pressure Zone once legislation in force.
– Carrying out internal and external property inspections or desk based assessments, when required, in connection with rental valuation and Housing Benefit determinations.
– Accurately identifying and collecting suitable rental market evidence from letting and estate agents and landlords and recording it in the RSS internal IT database.
– Determining rents for Local Authority Housing Benefit subsidy purposes.
– Assisting the Team Leader in quality assuring all lettings information.
– Continually reviewing and establishing new sources of letting information and actively identifying and filling any gaps in the data.
– Building effective working relationships and providing information to key stakeholders, including Local Authority Housing Benefit Departments, landlords, their agents and representative bodies as well as tenants and their representatives.
