Business Support Administrator
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Finance Support Administrator for a 23 month contract on a rate of £15.02/hour PAYE. The working hours are 37 hours per week. This role will be based on site.
 
Responsibilities:
 
– Support the smooth running of day-to-day financial processes, managing workloads and priorities to ensure that a high-quality service is delivered to internal and external stakeholders. This will include managing the finance mailbox, processing purchase orders and invoices, identifying and resolving issues and employing judgement and financial knowledge and experience to identify errors.
– Responsibility for carrying out control and quality assurance procedures over financial transactions, including staffing costs updates, identifying mis-posted items, and supporting monthly reconciliations
– Process financial transactions using judgement and financial experience to ensure correct financial coding and challenging supporting evidence to protect the integrity of financial records, ensuring that all processing complies with the requirements of the Scottish Public Finance Manual (SPFM).
– Supporting financial improvement activity through identification of inefficiencies and potential improvements and working with the Finance Manager to ensure improvements are successfully implemented.
– Providing resilience and support to the wider Business Management team with tasks such as booking meetings, reporting IT faults, Stationery and booking travel.
 
 
Essential Skills:
 
– Excellent administration and organisational skills, with experience of prioritising and managing a varied workload to meet deadlines effectively.
– Motivated and well organised, you will have a proven track record of working effectively and flexibly as part of a team, and using your own initiative to work at times ensuring that targets are met.
– Attention to detail and good IT skills with experience of using Microsoft Office and financial systems.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills with confidence in engaging with Finance colleagues/stakeholders.
