Communications & Marketing Coordinator
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Communications and Marketing Coordinator until the 28th of February 2027 on a rate of £22.56 – £26.28/hour PAYE – working 35 hours per week. This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office.
 
Responsibilities:
 
– Act as a customer champion and assisting others to engage and adopt the organisation and associated brands
– Work with colleagues to ensure marketing and communications activities are effectively integrated into the organisation’s product and service offering across all areas within the remit of the role
– Raise awareness amongst internal stakeholders of the role of the Communications and Marketing Team and the support available
– Provide support to help ensure that all marketing and communications activity utilises customer insights and market intelligence to inform our approach to the delivery of our key outcomes and services
– Support the effective management and implementation of communications and marketing processes and procedures
– Monitoring of all financial and other resources associated with areas of responsibility
– Support the development and delivery of high-profile marketing and communications projects, channels and campaigns that meet outcomes and targets
– Develop content for utilisation across marketing and communications channels
– Project manage and lead delivery of marketing and communications projects in support of broader plans as directed by line manager, including budget management of these requirements
– Support and influence the development and delivery of a comprehensive suite of communications and marketing activity that is appropriate to the intended audience and use the most appropriate/effective channels
– Actively pursue new communication opportunities on an ongoing basis
– Liaise with partners to ensure effective promotion of the organisation’s products and services through partner channels
– Lead on team area of Connect, ensuring content is informative, up-to-date, relevant and helpful to colleagues.
– Establish and maintain close and productive relationships with key internal and external contacts, such as marketing agencies and partner organisations ensuring that the customer experience is central to all activity
 
Essential Skills:
 
– Experience of delivering and supporting the development of communications and marketing campaign, projects and activity
– Delivery of projects within own remit on time and within budget
– Experience of managing the work of agencies, printers and other suppliers
– Hold a CIM, CIPR or equivalent qualification – Certificate level, or equivalent, or able to demonstrate comparable work experience – aligned to SCQF level 7
– Subject matter knowledge of the key aspects of communications and or marketing activities (journalism, public relations, marketing, social content creation)
– Ability to produce short form video content and experience managing social media channels and communities 
– Interviewing to create engaging content – both for print or for video
– Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with people at all levels, both internally and externally
– Understanding of the principles of promoting an organisation and its services in order to meet outcomes and targets
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Effective organisational skills with an ability to prioritise own workload to strict deadlines – with a proactive approach to work
– An innovative, proactive and motivated individual, able to take initiative and support the implementation of strategic marketing and communications plans
– Creative with a willingness to pitch new ideas and see them through to fruition
– The ability to enthuse others with energy, initiative, creativity and imagination
– A self-motivated, pro-active personality who takes a hands on approach to delivering work
– Able to take on challenges whilst maintaining effectiveness and a positive demeanour
– Willingness to set high standards and maintain them
– Excellent attention to detail, particularly in proof reading
– Confident with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff including senior management
– A highly effective team player who is consultative and collaborative by nature but assertive and driven by results, with experience of working effectively within a team
 
Desirable Skills:
 
– Formal membership of industry recognised bodies
– An understanding of the skills landscape in Scotland
– Good working knowledge of content management systems
– Experience of email marketing platforms
– Experience of media distribution platforms
– Keen interest in social media content creation and platform management
– Highly developed networking capabilities
– Able to adopt a facilitation role with colleagues when necessary.
