Decarbonisation Implementation Lead
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Decarbonisation Implementation Lead for a 6 month contract on a rate of £500-£550 a day (Inside IR35). This role will be hybrid based.
Responsibilities:
– Project manage the process of embedding carbon management standards across the organisation
– Lead the process of introducing TCFD and TNFD reporting
– Lead the re-definition of our corporate carbon boundary and rebase lining of our carbon emissions
– Support the Director of Development, Capital Delivery and Decarbonisation to deliver the initial actions laid out in our Decarbonisation Strategy Route-Map
– Ensure the proper governance and operation of the project through operation of a Project Board and in accordance with good project management principles
– Delivery of the actions set out in the agreed Decarbonisation Strategy and Route Map
– Provide reports and presentations to share the outputs of the project with partners and other bodies
Essential Skills:
– Relevant degree level qualification or equivalent work experience
– Excellent work ethic and highly motivated to achieve results.
– Leadership skills to engage productively and constructively with internal and external parties.
– Ability to build effective relationships and contribute to the wider team.
– Excellent communication skills both written and verbal including persuasion and influence.
– Excellent analytical skills including for financial analysis and interpretation.
– Well-organised with a methodical and objective approach, and an attention to detail and accuracy.
– Ability to work well under pressure and to deliver to tight deadlines.
– Ability to work under own initiative as well as effectively as part of a team.
– Significant experience of carbon management and financial risk reporting
– Track record of full life cycle planning and delivery of projects/programmes including planning, resource management, budgeting, risk and issue management
– Competent user of Microsoft Office suite
Desirable Skills:
– Relevant post graduate qualification or professional accredited qualification
– Previous experience within an organisation managing a similar environment
– Previous experience of organisational change management
