Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit an Identity and Access Architect/Engineer for an initial 8 month contract with potential to extend on a rate of £700-800/day Inside IR35. This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office with at least 2 days a week in the office required.
 
Responsibilities:
 
– Understanding of technology and dependencies – Be able to identify, design and deploy solutions using SG’s cloud IdP technologies and raise issues with planned activities.  Successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with Cloud IdP platforms, specifically Okta Workforce Identity Cloud, as well as other Cloud Security services to architect robust and secure solutions.
– Support workshops – Be able to support in delivery of workshops, as well as run workshops with other product owners to design and deliver end to end solutions.
– Delivery – Design and deliver complex SAML/OIDC SSO integrations using corporate Identity platform, Okta.
– Make recommendations to approach – Be able to use analysis to identify risk and/or suggest improvements
– Understand both functional and non-functional requirements – Be able to make suggestions for improvements, and identify risks where appropriate that consider both the systems and business needs
– Business checks – Be able to work closely with stakeholders to ensure that changes to applications and related Business process work as expected
– Ad hoc User Acceptance testing – Be able to work with technical teams to check changes work as expected prior to sharing with Stakeholders
– Support development of training materials – Be able to challenge existing materials to ensure they produce the best experience for the relevant stakeholders
– Support documentation of recommendations, policies and procedures – Be able to articulate complex messages in a succinct way that is suitable for the relevant audience.
 
 
Essential Skills:
 
– Okta Workforce Identity Cloud – be experienced with all aspects of Okta design, configuration, administration and support
– Confident communicator – Be able to appropriately adjust communication style to different levels of technical experience
– Build relationships with key technical and non-technical stakeholders within the Project – Be able to work well with both existing stakeholders and identify additional stakeholders where appropriate.
– Confident Cloud IdP Architect – Be able to use MS Excel to monitor and track work as well as perform analysis when required including vlookups, pivot tables etc.
 
 
Desirable Skills:
 
– Okta Certifications
– SAML/OIDC
– Active Directory
– HR-as-a-Master
– ZScaler ZIA / ZPA
– Working knowledge of other cloud-based security platforms which complement the IdP landscape, i.e., Entra, zScaler, Crowdstrike, etc., would be highly desirable.
