Information Management Lead
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit an Information Management Lead for an initial 12 month contract on a rate of £27.04/hour PAYE – working 35 hours per week. This role will be hybrid working and will be required to attend the office six days per month.
Responsibilities:
– Act as the dedicated IM and Data Protection point of contact for the Core Systems Replacement programme and related projects
– Support project teams to embed Data Protection by Design into system and process development
– Assist with the completion, review and quality assurance of DPIAs, data mapping and assurance documentation for projects
– Identify information risks arising from project activity and provide practical, delivery‑focused advice
– Support consistent data governance arrangements within projects, including clarity on data ownership, retention and lawful processing
– Translate UK GDPR and IM requirements into clear actions that support delivery rather than delay it
– Work collaboratively with Information Management, IT and Information Security colleagues to ensure aligned controls within projects
– Contribute to project‑specific guidance, templates or approaches where required to support consistent delivery
Essential Skills:
– Professional experience in information management, data protection, records management or data governance
– Working knowledge of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, applied within project or operational contexts
– Experience supporting projects, programmes or change initiatives, rather than solely BAU activity
– Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple project workstreams
– Confidence providing clear, proportionate and evidence‑based IM / DP advice to project and non‑specialist colleagues
– Strong collaboration skills and experience working with delivery, technical or transformation teams
