Jury Attendant
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Support Grade Band 2 for up to 31st March 2025 with possible extension contract on a rate of £13.99 PAYE. Working hours Monday to Friday 9am – 4.30pm.
Candidates are required to have a standard disclosure in place or willing to apply.
Responsibilities:
-Acting as liaison between Depute Clerks of Justiciary and jurors
-Administration of jurors (e.g. providing jurors with appropriate forms) and assist with DEPS enquiries, as far as possible.
-Daily check-in of sitting jurors
-Setting up Jury room (refreshments, paper, pens etc.).
-Leading Jurors to and from Court to Jury Room and ensuring that their attendance is secure within the Court or room.
-Setup stationery/document folders for arrival of new jury.
-Set out jury folders each morning and secure jury folders at the end of each sitting day.
-Accompanying Jurors to smoking areas at breaks and lunch hours.
-Ensuring Jurors are shown out of the building when Court concludes.
-Assisting in setting up screens/cameras for Vulnerable Witnesses as required.
-Retrieving and returning case papers from the Justiciary Office as required.
-Receiving, sorting and distributing external mail.
-Providing internal mail services by collecting and delivering mail from and to designated points.
-Reception duties dealing with all customers (solicitors, witnesses, jurors, parties etc.).
-Operating the main Reception switchboard, transferring calls and dealing with general enquiries.
-Deliver papers to Court/Chambers as required.

– You will be customer focused, prepared to work as part of a team and eager to develop and acquire new skills.
