Management Accountant
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Forfar, is currently looking to recruit a Management Accountant for an initial 6 month contract with potential to extend to 23 months, on a salary of £39,219.06/annum. This role will be hybrid working with 2-3 days per week on site. 
 
Responsibilities: 
 
– Under the direction of Manager- Change, support the delivery of agreed Change Programme projects. 
– Responsible for taking forward, initially, Change Programme projects in relation to review of: 
  1. Recharging of Central Support services costs within the organisation to ensure an auditable but low burden methodology.
  2. Fees and charges levied by the organisation to ensure full cost recovery, where applicable.
– Contribute to the development of project plans and other associated documents to ensure effective management and monitoring of Change Programme projects. 
– Lead on the liaison with officers to investigate and gather project data. 
– Lead on the financial analysis related to the projects. 
– Lead on modelling of options to achieve project objectives. 
– Provide input to reports, briefing papers, etc. 
– Maintain a sound knowledge of the requirements of legislation and Scottish Government Regulations and Guidance in so far as they are relevant to the duties of the post and ensure compliance with the same. 
– Maintain a sound knowledge of the requirements of professional and other codes of practice in so far as they are relevant to the duties of the post and ensure compliance with the same. 
– Represent Manager – Change on any project teams or working groups and contribute to the achievement of the organisation’s Change Programme objectives. 
– Will be required to undertake other duties as required. 
 
Essential Skills: 
 
– CIMA or equivalent CCAB qualification.
– Excellent numeracy skills.
– Excellent IT skills.
– Good interpersonal skills.
– Good oral communication skills.
– Good written communication skills.
– Excellent accounting and analytical skills, particularly in relation to absorption costing. 
– Ability to work with minimum supervision. 
– Ability to work with colleagues from a range of disciplines.
– Ability to work flexibly to meet tight deadlines and deal with conflicting priorities.
 
Desirable Skills: 
 
– Experience in the management of projects.
– Experience in the use of corporate financial systems, particularly Capita’s Integra Centros. 
– Experience in developing charging policies and client charges.
