Tax Administrator
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh is currently looking to recruit Tax Operations Assistants for an initial 6-month contracts on a rate of £13.07/hour PAYE – working 37 hours per week. These roles will be hybrid working with a minimum of two days per week in the office location.

Candidates must have basic disclosure certificate and BPSS security clearance in place.


Responsibilities:
You will provide administrative support by preparing and issuing correspondence to the public and their representatives. This may include repayments, penalties and recovery of unpaid debts.
 
-Answer Support Desk telephone calls daily, providing guidance and support to callers to fulfil their tax obligations
-Update and maintain internal databases (including the tax collection system) relating to all types of tax transactions.
-Prepare and issue correspondence to taxpayers and agents
-Process mail and repayments, penalties and debt
-Undertake tax return checks and identify any follow up actions.
-Handle sensitive and personal information in line with confidentiality rules
-Support colleagues/team members throughout Tax Operations as needs arise.
 
Essential Criteria:
-Positive approach to change, with an ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time effectively
-Good communication skills
-Good understanding of Outlook and Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Teams
-Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly as part of a team
