Test Analyst
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Test Analyst for an initial 3 month contract on a rate of £400-£450/day (Inside IR35). This role will be hybrid working with a minimum of 1 day per week in the office.
Responsibilities:
– Based on analysis of the requirements, the design and business processes: plan, design, script and execute tests for system, system integration, user acceptance and implementation testing as required.
– Identify and lodge defects, and conduct any re-testing required.
– Build and maintain relationships to ensure effective on-going stakeholder engagement with projects, and support business areas with user acceptance testing.
– Contribute to status reports for the testing they are responsible for.
– Identification and highlighting of risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies.
– Working closely with staff from across the organisation, both technical and business, who are involved in projects.
– Liaising with other team members as part of multi-disciplinary project teams as required, ensuring knowledge transfer and providing input and advice on testing.
– Providing technical expertise in meetings with software and/or hardware suppliers, and with external organisations.
– Providing input to progress reports and contributing specialist knowledge to the test Manager.
Essential Skills:
– Degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in a computer related subject, or equivalent experience relevant to the job.
– Good software testing skills using relevant tools and technologies.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to absorb complex information and quickly identify the key points.
– Effective communication and interpersonal skills are needed for liaison with others at all levels.
– Strong user focus and team working skills.
– Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and apply these effectively within a variety of business contexts.
– Confidence and flexibility to work under pressure to deliver effective and high-quality software systems.
– Experience of software testing and be able to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Communication skills are critical for this the role – should be able to communicate with a range of stakeholders: both inside the organisation and in external organisations; with technical colleagues and colleagues in business teams; and with colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
– Experience with Oracle Fusion or with other ERP systems is highly desirable as is experience of test and defect management tools including TestRail and JIRA.
