Assistant Laboratory Diagnostician (Virology & Plant Health)
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit 2 x Assistant Laboratory Diagnosticians for initial 6 month contracts on rates of £15.88/hour (PAYE). These roles will be based on site in Edinburgh.
Responsibilities:
– Providing support to the virology team for receipt, preparation, processing, and statutory virus testing of plant (potato) samples (leaf and tubers).
– Manual and glasshouse work: lifting and handling large bags of potatoes for planting, maintenance, sampling and testing of potato material.
– Working within a quality assurance laboratory management system compliant with UKAS requirements for accredited tests.
Desirable Skills:
– Previous experience in glasshouse or laboratory environment would be valuable.
