Portfolio Analyst
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Portfolio Analyst for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of c.£350/day (Inside IR35). This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office.
Responsibilities:
– Ensure portfolio information is accurate, timely and structured to enable senior decision making
– Provide integrated insight across planning, risk, benefits and change readiness
– Facilitate integration across PMO disciplines in terms of planning, resource management, benefits tracking, business cases, risk and assurance
– Support continuous improvement of PMO tools, templates and processes
– Engage proactively with internal stakeholders to gather information, build alignment and share best practice.
Essential Skills:
– Relevant degree level qualification or equivalent work experience
– Strong analytical capability with ability to interpret multiple data sources
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Ability to work flexibly across a wide range of PMO disciplines (planning, risk, benefits, change, assurance)
– Highly organised with strong attention to detail
– Ability to translate complex data into clear, concise insight for non-technical audiences
– Experience in PMO, project, programme or portfolio support environments
– Experience supporting planning, business cases or structured reporting
– Experience tracking benefits or contributing to organisational change support
– Proficient in Microsoft Office and planning tools
Desirable Skills:
– Professional certifications (e.g. PRINCE2, APM, MoR, MSP)
– Experience preparing governance papers or supporting assurance events
– Knowledge / experience of public sector governance frameworks
