Storekeeper
Contract length: 3 month
Pay rate: £15.50/hour (PAYE)
Location: Aberdeen
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Aberdeen, is currently looking to recruit a Storekeeper for a 3 month contract on a rate of £15.50/hour (PAYE). The working hours for this role is 10:00am to 2:00pm Monday to Thursday and 10:00am -1:12pm Friday.
Responsibilities
– To receipt goods into storage from suppliers, couriers and other departments on a daily basis. This will include the checking of all goods against delivery notes, informing the National Stock Controller and suppliers of short deliveries, inputting information into the stock management system and advising on stock re-order levels.
– To securely and safely locate goods within the relevant and designated Storage areas in line with all SOP’s, paying particular notice to any specified environmental requirements and expiration dates on the products and ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing/Distribution Practice (GxP). This is to ensure that goods are used and stored in accordance with the manufacturers and auditors guidelines. As some products handled are hazardous a brief knowledge of COSHH regulations will be required.
– To pick, pack, issue and deliver when required all goods as requested on a daily basis to meet the operational needs of user departments, in line with SOP’s.
– To accurately maintain all required paper and electronic records of all stores transactions in line with SOP’s, utilising all modules within the stock management system. This will include some Quality Assurance paperwork in relation to items which require QA input, also certificates of analysis as required by user departments. This will be on a daily basis.
– To participate in the perpetual inventory stock check programme, undertaking physical counts and maintaining records to ensure accurate stock levels. Investigating and reconciling stock where discrepancies occur.
– To rotate the stock within the Stores in such a manner as to ensure that stock-outs and expiry of products does not occur, advising department managers, National Stock Controller and users of any items, which may become obsolete if not used.
– To liaise with suppliers when appropriate to ensure that goods are delivered stored and maintained at optimum levels. This will be on a daily basis-.
– To undertake regular store cleaning duties in order to maintain the store in a clean, safe and tidy fashion, updating stores cleaning records on a weekly basis.
– To assist department managers and National Stock Controller with analysis of stock patterns over a given period, making recommendations for change to optimise stock use.
– Implement any changes to working practices and ensure that the changes are carried out to prescribed timescales, ensuring that any changes are communicated to users of the service.
– As a designated keyholder, to ensure that the store area is kept secure at all times and that any security issues are dealt with as a matter of urgency including monitoring and reporting on out of hours emergency access as per National SOP’s. Advising line manager of any perceived security deficiencies and any recommendations for improving security of the store.
– Where appropriate to provide a distribution service to the Centre for the onward delivery/collection of mail and microbiology tested and untested blood component samples.
Essential Skills:
– Demonstrable experience of working in a busy warehouse environment with a sound understanding of stores and stock holdings.
– Good experience of paper and electronic stock management/finance systems and general IT skills.
– Standard keyboard skills
– Manual handling skills and awareness
– Knowledge in relation to Health and Safety, Fire and COSHH requirements
– Ability to remain calm whilst working under pressure.
– Post holder should be reliable/flexible to meet the demands of the service we provide to our customer.
– To be able to work as part of a team
Desirable Skills:
– Knowledge of e-financials stock management system or other commonly used electronic stock management systems.
