Junior Project Manager
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow with offices throughout Scotland, is currently looking to recruit a Junior Project Manager until the 30th of November 2024 on a salary of £38,297-£44,613/annum. This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office.

 
Responsibilities:

 
– Develop and maintain project plans, exercising change control when appropriate, to ensure that agreed project timescales are adhered to
– Lead small projects or sub project activity, to ensure that the project delivers on time, to budget and that project interdependencies are identified and actively managed
– Identify and manage emerging challenges, risks and issues which may impact the successful delivery of the project, initiating or escalating corrective action as appropriate
– Work with the Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) to ensure all change is embedded across the organisation and partner organisations to enable realisation of identified benefits
– Responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of progress against all plans to the relevant project meetings
– Adhere to Project Governance protocols to support the smooth running of the project, completing all required reporting
– Support the development of the project communications plans with corporate communications leads
– Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and represent your project activity at relevant meetings
– Maintain awareness of the EIS Strategy that influences the successful delivery of the project
– Manage third party supplier contributions to projects where applicable
– Responsible for monitoring project budget spend
– Responsible for regular, accurate updating of the project risk register
– Ensure EIS project management methodology is followed on all project delivery that you are responsible for
– Work with the Head of PMO on improving project reporting, governance and statistic
 
Essential Skills:
 
– Demonstrable work experience equivalent to SCQF level 9, or be educated to degree level in Project Management or any Business-related subject such as Economics, Management, Marketing, Business Management, IT, or any other degree with strong project management elements
– Confident and competent in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
– Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects
– Good communication and presentation skills
– Customer and solutions-focused, strong problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
– Planning and organisational skills; ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously
– Interpersonal and influencing skills to ensure the most effective and efficient delivery of the project
– An ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
– Works with attention to detail and high level of accuracy
– Highly motivated/enthusiastic and driven
 
Desirable Skills:
 
– Experience of managing streams of project activity or small projects
– Qualified in Project Management methods including PRINCE2, APMP, PMP or equivalent PM methodologies gained within their degree
– Familiar with change management principles and/or experience or qualifications in change management methodology
– Experience of working on IT projects or within an IT environment
– Confident and competent in Microsoft Project and Visio
– Able to foster a culture of trust and co-operation and team working
– Effective networker

– Adaptable to changing working environments
