Community Works Operative
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Skye, is currently looking to recruit a Community Works Operative 4 for a 2 week contract on a rate of £14.68/hour (PAYE).
Responsibilities
– To work as a part of a team in the Transfer Station managing incoming and outgoing waste products with colleagues.
– To operate all plant equipment required for the general operation of the transfer station.
– Daily checks on all plant and any other equipment used in the facility using defect reporting.
– Daily inspection of the building apron and hard standing surfaces taking remedial action where required and formally reporting this on a daily basis noting issues or problems and providing options for remedial action.
– Be a Health and Safety Champion with the expectation that continuous improvement strategies be implemented and provide those solutions in written reports.
– Work and direct traffic in and out of the facility as required in a safe and orderly manner and formally provide continuous improvement solutions/actions to the Foreperson
– Professionally collaborate and effectively communicate with all third-party contractors and internal RCV drivers negotiating site movement and scheduling.
– Daily housekeeping inside building and outside building submitting reporting detailing room for improvement or areas that require attention.
– Administration duties and reporting as required.
– Any other work as directed by your Foreperson.
Essential Skills:
– CITB operators’ certificate or ability to acquire
– Demonstrate and provide examples of managing health and safety and root cause within a working environment.
– Demonstrate and provide examples of experience working as a part of a team and collaborating to solve problems.
– Demonstrable experience working with Microsoft Office programmes Excel, Word and Outlook or similar programs.
– Proven communication experience with outside organisations and internal partners
– Must have Scottish National Fours or Fives or equivalent.
Desirable Skills:
– HGV license.
– Manual Handling Certificate.
– Ability to step up into the Transfer Station Foreperson 2 role.
– IOSH or NEBOSH
