HGV Driver
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Helensburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Driver 2 for a 6 weeks contract with an option to extend on a rate of £14.68/hour (PAYE).
Responsibilities
– Assist the Amenity Supervisor to ensure that high quality services and best value are delivered to service users.
In particular:
– Daily vehicle checks, vehicle cleaning, transport of goods, equipment and personnel.
– Assisting in the loading and unloading of the vehicles, using where necessary mechanical aids, and completion of associated paperwork
– Undertake, either individually or as a member of the team, duties concerned with the removal of household, industrial and commercial refuse from a variety of locations. These duties will require the use and operation of the usual range of associated manual and mechanical tools and equipment.
– Whilst not driving, the post holder will undertake ancillary duties undertaken by the cleansing service, including civic amenity site, refuse collection and beach cleaning
– All employees must follow the health and safety policies, standards, systems and procedures and must follow any additional health and safety instructions required by their line management. Employees who manage staff (and/or control workers from outside bodies) must ensure that they comply with the health and safety at work procedures and ensure that all workplace risks are assessed, suitable control measures are put in place and that these are communicated to the workforce in a way they understand.
– Must be prepared to work overtime when required
– The jobholder will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
– The jobholder will be expected to participate in emergency situation responses and standby duties as required
– Undertake other duties appropriate to this job and grade, and as required by the line manager.
Essential Skills:
– LGV Licence (Large Goods Vehicle) minimum Cat C, Licence (previously HGV Cat 2 Licence)
– Must be capable of working as part of a team
– The jobholder will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
Desirable Skills:
– Drivers CPC
– Able to work with refuse collection vehicles
– Manual Handling Training
– Health and Safety awareness
